Alessandro Taverna - Concert Pianist

Now Avaialable for Recitals & Orchestral Engagements in USA & Canada
4* Review from Guardian Classical

'There was controversy in 2009 when Alessandro Taverna won bronze at the Leeds International Piano Competition - many people thought he should have been awarded the gold. Since then, he's gone from strength to strength, as amply proved by this Medtner disc which features 3 of the composer's 14 sonata's - the Reminiscenza, the Romantica and the Minacciosa.

Alessandro - Cliburn 2013

Taverna's programme in the 2013 competition comprised of:

Mendelssohn Sonata No. 3 in B-flat Major op. 106,

Medtner Sonata in F Minor, op. 53 No. 2 ("Sonata minacciosa"),

Ligeti Etude No. 13 - L'escalier du diable,

Messian Regard de l'esprit de joie (from Vingt regards sur l'Enfant-Jesus).

Washington DC Charity Recital

Whether it be for competitions such as the Cliburn or his most recent visit to support a charitable foundation, Alessandro has been a frequent visitor to the USA over the years and is looking forward to taking up invitations to perform further Recitals and Orchestral engagements in the wonderful concert halls of the United States & Canada.
